Easy Street Brakes On
I suppose I should have been finishing up Easy Street, but I decided I'd put the brakes on, pin a few more blocks onto the design wall, take a picture for the blog & Quiltville's link up (which was yesterday! if you haven't already, check out the beauties there), then take it down and work on it when I can get the living room cleaned up enough, and vacuumed, so that I can lay it out on the floor. I could just close my eyes and sew the blocks together, and it would probably work, but I suppose I'm just anal enough that I want to make sure I don't have too many of the same fabrics in one area and not in another. That said, here's another photo, just willy-nilly pinned to the design wall...it will get sewn together, just not right now.
I am really loving this quilt!

Looking great. I'm like you in that I'm trying to keep from having too much of the same fabric all clustered in one area. When I get all my Easy Street blocks sewn together, I'll probably lay them out on the floor and take pictures of a few layouts to make sure I like it :)
ReplyDeleteLove your color choices!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics you chose for this - my favorite of all I've seen so far. I didn't try this mystery - too many other projects to complete before I take on a new one.
ReplyDeleteI love this! The colors are spectacular!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour autumnal colours look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful in your colors. I love the gold--it really warms it up.
ReplyDeleteHey, I have barely assembled one of each block. You are way ahead of me traveling down Easy Street! : )
I so relate to your post about having to lay it out so that you don't have the same fabrics too close to each other. I had to clean up my kitchen floor to lay mine out because that is the only space large enough for this big quilt! I moved from the coast to the high desert and felt misplaced for many years! I love your home page photo and your easy street color choice goes well with it! Very pretty!!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful and I did the same thing....waited until the cats took their nap and laid the blocks on the floor...best way for me to work.
ReplyDeleteI love your golds and blues together. There is a lot of sewing at the end, but it's totally worth it. I've enjoyed seeing the different colour schemes.
